Ken From

Ken From, P. Eng., assumed the role of CEO of the Technical Safety Authority of Saskatchewan following a varied and successful career in the energy sector. Most recently, Mr. From was co-founder, president, CEO and Chairman of the Board of Prairie Hunter Energy Corporation. Prairie Hunter was a Saskatchewan-based junior oil exploration company using state-of-the-art geoscience and engineering to explore and develop oil pools in southeast Saskatchewan. Prairie Hunter was sold to Renegade Petroleum in 2010.

From 1984 to 2007 Mr. From held increasingly senior positions with SaskEnergy Incorporated. As Senior Vice President of SaskEnergy, Mr. From had fiduciary responsibility for the overall direction of SaskEnergy and its subsidiaries. He led the team that managed gas supply and designed the rates charged to the corporation’s customers, often appearing as the corporation’s public face explaining the business case for rate changes.

Throughout his career Mr. From has been characterized as a visionary and a strategist who delivers results in the Crown, private and volunteer sectors. His leadership qualities include the ability to motivate others, negotiate partnerships and foster the necessary relationships amongst stakeholders that lead to success.

Mr. From holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (Distinction) from the University of Saskatchewan. He is currently serving a second term as Director on the Board of Engineers Canada. His previous professional affiliations include serving as president of the Association of Professional Engineers of Saskatchewan.

Mr. From is serving as CEO of the Technical Safety Authority. His appointment took effect November 1, 2010.
