Requests for Special Examinations
In part, the following explains the requirements in The Boiler and Pressure Vessel Act and Regulations:
A candidate for an examination who is unable to take the examination at a regular sitting may apply to take the examination on a special date or a special location.
Regular sittings consist of the Regina and Saskatoon examination sittings found on the www.tsask.ca website and the regularly scheduled SIAST Kelsey Campus, SIIT Meadow Lake, and Lloydminster (Husky BPU) sittings that are open to candidates outside these organizations where space is available. Dates and availability to write an examination at these locations can be confirmed through the online calendar or by calling our Regina office.
All requirements noted within the "Application Process for Boiler Operator Examinations" informational bulletin must be complied with in addition to the following information:
An application for a special examination shall provide as a minimum the candidate's reasons for the application and the proposed location and time for the examination. Special examination requests will be reviewed for approval and shall be submitted one month in advance to:
Attn: Examination Coordinator
Technical Safety Authority of Saskatchewan
330 - 1855 Victoria Avenue
REGINA SK S4P 3T2
Special examinations are further subject to additional fees and will be invoiced following the examination sitting as outlined. An hourly charge of $135 plus GST ($270/hour plus GST on Saturdays, Sundays, or holidays) will apply to conduct the examination, including one hour of setting-up time. Please note that these charges are subject to GST. Additionally, the hourly charge will apply to travel by the examiner and all reasonable travel, meals, and accommodation expenses incurred by the examiner.
