Pressure Equipment Inspector Licence

Please note that the application for a PEI Class 1 or 2 licence is not available at this time. If you currently hold a class 1 or 2 licence, a renewal email will be sent to you the month prior to your current licence expiring.

To apply for a PEI Class 3 licence complete the Pressure Equipment Inspector Licence form, licences are valid for five years. 

Eligibility for LPEI Licence:

Class 1

  1. Passed examination with respect to the Act, Regulations and adopted standards; 
  2. Holds a valid:
    • Inspectors In-service Commission issued by the National Board of Boiler and Pressure Vessel Inspectors (NBBI); or
    • In-service Pressure Equipment Inspector certificate issued by the NBBI; or
    • In-Service Pressure Equipment Inspector Certificate of Competency (ISI-BPVPP) issued by ABSA.

Class 2

  1. Passed examination with respect to the Act, Regulations and adopted standards; 
  2. Holds a valid:
    • Certificate issued by The American Petroleum Institute pursuant to the requirements of the API 510 Pressure Vessel Inspector Certification Program; or
    • In-Service Pressure Equipment Inspector Certificate of Competency (Pressure Vessels and Pressure Piping) (ISI-PVPP) issued by ABSA.

Class 3

  1. Holds a valid:
    • Inspectors In-service Commission issued by the National Board of Boiler and Pressure Vessel Inspectors (NBBI); or
    • In-service Pressure Equipment Inspector certificate issued by the NBBI; or
    • In-Service Pressure Equipment Inspector Certificate of Competency (ISI-BPVPP) issued by ABSA; or
    • Certificate issued by The American Petroleum Institute pursuant to the requirements of the API 510 Pressure Vessel Inspector Certification Program; or
    • In-Service Pressure Equipment Inspector Certificate of Competency (Pressure Vessels and Pressure Piping) (ISI-PVPP) issued by ABSA.

It is possible to hold a licence authorizing the scope of work for an LPEI while not holding a Certificate of Qualification issued by TSASK.
