Out of Province Certificate Assessment for Elevating Device Mechanics

As outlined in Section 7.2 of the Elevating Device Mechanic Information Paper, out of province applicants who have completed a training program in their home jurisdiction or those with existing qualifications in Saskatchewan may apply for an Out of Province Certificate Assessment.

All documentation submitted for assessment must be translated to English by a certified translator, along with the original certified translated documents.

Please refer to the Elevating Device Mechanic Information Paper for full details, all documents listed must be submitted for the application to be considered. Requirements include, but are not limited to:

• Province of original EDM licence;
• Identifying the specific types of Elevating Devices and the nature of work performed (i.e. elevators/escalators, working in maintenance/construction, and in what capacity); and
• Completion of the Saskatchewan Elevator Safety Acts & Regulations course and examination.
