Transfer of Gas, Electrical and Plumbing Inspections to the Technical Safety Authority of Saskatchewan (TSASK)
The Government of Saskatchewan has announced the intention to transfer the following activities to TSASK:
- Gas and electrical licensing from the Ministry of Government Relations;
- Gas and electrical inspections from SaskPower;
- Plumbing inspections presently conducted by the Saskatchewan Health Authority.
It is expected that this transfer will take up to two years with the goal of centralizing the provision of technical safety services while maintaining the highest quality of both safety and service for the public.
“We welcome the opportunity and the challenge that this expansion presents to TSASK,” said Bill Scott, CEO of TSASK. “We look forward to welcoming new members to our team and to establishing relationships with a new group of stakeholders.”
Established in 2010, TSASK is a not-for-profit organization created to deliver safety programs related to pressure equipment, elevating devices, and amusement rides in the Province.
TSASK operates at arms-length from the Provincial Government while retaining a relationship with government through the Ministry of Government Relations.
