Overview
TSASK has developed a process to assist in the evaluation of degrees granted outside of Canada. This is for people who wish to obtain recognition for power engineering certification in Saskatchewan. The applicant will need to provide TSASK with the required documentation, as well as meet the requirements of The Boiler and Pressure Vessel Regulations in order to obtain certification.
As per The Boiler and Pressure Vessel Regulations Sec. 2(1), “graduate engineer” means an engineer who has graduated with a degree in mechanical engineering or a university degree that the chief inspector recognizes as equivalent to a degree in mechanical engineering.
TSASK will not accept degrees or transcripts from universities outside of Canada. To apply for recognition, qualifications must be reviewed by APEGS to confirm that the degree is equivalent to a degree in Mechanical Engineering obtained in Canada. TSASK will not accept evaluations done by IQUAS, WES, or any other association other than APEGS.
Once the review is complete, a person can submit documents issued by APEGS along with a copy of the original degree to exams@tsask.ca.
Once all documentation has been submitted, it will be reviewed for certification. Please note that it takes up to 2 weeks for a certificate to be issued. If there are any problems or we require any additional information, you will be contacted via email.
