  • Boilers & Pressure Vessels

Pressure weld testing is available in Regina and Saskatoon every week – alternating between Wednesday and Thursday depending which facility is scheduled for that week. Clients can refer to the weld test schedule for clarification. Welding tests must be booked in advance by submitting an application form and fee before the cut off date.

Weld testing can be done at a client’s welding facility on a request service basis for any process with a registered WPS. Additional fees will apply.

We are unable to invoice for weld test payments or out of province licences. Your organization can submit the payment directly to us with your application or you can submit the fee yourself and ask them to reimburse you.

Due to the limited number of seats available in an exam sitting, once you are booked in for an exam you are unable to move to a different sitting.

The cut-off date for exams is ALWAYS 14 calendar days before the scheduled exam date.

Once you have passed all of your exams for the current level of certification, you will need to submit your qualifications in order to receive your certificate (if required as per The Boiler and Pressure Regulations).

When you have written and passed the PEI Administration exam, an email will be sent to you with the link to purchase your licence as well as a request to submit all supporting documentation required for the class of licence you are wishing to obtain.

You will receive an email confirmation detailing the date, time and location in which you were booked to write the exam you have applied for. This confirmation will also include the exam in which you are booked in to write.

If you have not received this email within 3 business days after sending in your application, please contact our office.

The items allowed in all Power Engineering exams as per SOPEEC are:

  • Act and Regulations
  • CSA B51, Boiler, Pressure Vessel and Pressure Piping Codes
  • CSA B52 Mechanical Refrigeration Code
  • Extract for CSA B51 & B52 Codes
  • ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code Academics Extract and Supplement produced by Pan Global Training Systems
  • Steam tables and refrigeration tables
  • A non-technical dictionary
  • Pens and pencils (all multiple choice exams MUST be done in pencil)
  • Drawing instruments
  • Non-programmable calculator

  • The candidate must provide picture ID to the examiner prior to the examination.
  • No cell phone or electronic devices are to be brought into the exam room.
  • Items referenced above must be shown to the examiner. If there is any writing in the above materials, you will not be allowed to use them.

No. Even though you may have passed all of the exams in your current level of certification, you must have also met the requirements in order to receive the certificate. You cannot apply to write any exam of a higher class without having the lower level certification.

You may contact Southeast Regional College in Estevan, SK or Great Plains College in Swift Current, SK for more information on prep courses. All study material can be purchased from Pan Global’s website.

Feedback is currently provided on all exams except Oilfield Boiler Operator, Refrigeration Plant Operators and PEI Admin exams. The feedback will be emailed to a candidate, along with their exam marks, within 7 business days from the date of the exam.

Please note that there will not be feedback provided on 1st or 2nd class Power Engineer written exams if the candidate passes.

If you do not have computer access or do not want to complete the applications online, contact us at 1-866-530-8599 to have an application mailed out to you, or visit our Regina office at 2202 2nd Avenue. Cheques will be accepted; they MUST be accompanied by a completed application.

You will require access to a computer or mobile device as the Saskatchewan Elevator Safety Acts & Regulations course and exam are both online.

If you do not have your own device or access to a friend or family member’s, you can visit any place with free computer access, like your local union office, the public library, or Government Employment Services.

Most have staff available to assist with setting up a free email account.

No, you will not be approved. You will need to retake the exam and achieve a passing mark to apply for your licence.
