Gas Field Approval Submission Portal

• Submitted – Your field approval application has been received.
• In Review – Your application has been assigned. The review process has started.
• Returned – The review process has stopped. It was determined that submission requirements were not met. It will remain in the “return” status until the missing information or documents are added to the application.
• Authorized – Your Field Approval application has been authorized and is ready for the next step, permitting and inspection.
• Cleared – The permit and inspection are complete.
• Cancelled – Your field approval application has been cancelled.

You can upload the following extensions: pdf, png, zip, jpg, jpeg, eml and msg

Note: convert heic photos (iphone) to jpg, as heic is not accepted.

Once the review is complete, you will receive an email with a payment link. Upon receipt of payment, the field approval document will be available for download. Payment options are by credit card online, eft, or by cheque.

Typically the turnaround time is 10 business days.

If the field approval was completed prior to march 5, 2025, you will need to email geis@tsask.ca to request a copy.

1. Login to geis and go to “search” menu
2. Select “field approvals”
3. Go the application in “draft” status and click on the x then “ok”

You must have a registered GEIS account to submit field approvals.

If you are a gas or electrical contractor with a GEIS account, or an applicant with an electrical plans account, you can access the portal under the “New” menu.

If you are not registered, you will need to create an account by following these steps:

• Go to GEIS to create a username and password.
• Once your registration is submitted, you will receive an email with a link to verify your email address.
• Your registration will be pending TSASK approval. You will receive an email that your account has been activated. Please allow up to 2 business days for registration approval.

All gas and electrical contractors, and electrical plans applicants who already have a GEIS account will have access to submit gas field approvals.

There are two types of user accounts, Company Administrator and Normal Users.

• Company Administrators can add or remove users, reset a user’s password, enter and submit field approvals, and pay for field approvals. It is recommended that you have at least two Company Administrators for the account.
• Normal users can enter, submit, and pay for field approvals.

Yes, you will see progress in real time with one of the following statuses:

• Submitted – Your field approval application has been received.
• In Review – Your application has been assigned. The review process has started.
• Returned – The review process has stopped. It was determined that submission requirements were not met. It will remain in the “return” status until the missing information or documents are added to the application and resubmitted.
• Authorized – Your field approval application has been authorized and is ready for the next steps-payment, permitting, and inspection.
• Cleared – The permit has been received, and the field approval inspection is complete.
• Cancelled – Your field approval application has been cancelled.

Licensed gas or electrical contractors, homeowners, or engineer companies.

We will no longer accept field approvals through the mail or by email. You must have a GEIS account to submit field approvals.

If you did not include all the required documents with your submission, your application will be ‘returned’ and removed from the queue. Once you have uploaded the required documents to the application, your submission will be placed back in the queue the day it was resubmitted.

Once the review is complete, you will receive an email with a payment link. Upon receipt of payment, the Outcome Letter will be available for download. Payments options are by credit card online, EFT, or by cheque.
