Gas Fitter
A Gas Fitter sizes, installs, tests and maintains gas systems in residential, commercial and industrial buildings.
Gas Fitters work for a licensed contractor on gas installations and equipment as specified in the holder's licence and in the licence held by the contractor.
Types of Gas Fitters
Domestic
A Domestic Gas Fitter provides domestic installation services where:
- The total combined gas load does not exceed 205 kilowatts (700,000 btu) per hour; and
- Individual appliance load does not exceed 117 kilowatts (400,000 btu) per hour.
Domestic Gas Fitters are Plumbers, Steamfitter-Pipefitters or Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Mechanics who have passed the Domestic Gas Fitter Licence exam administered by the Saskatchewan Apprenticeship and Trade Certification Commission (SATCC) and obtained their licence from Gas and Electrical Licensing.

General
General Gas Fitters are Plumbers, Steamfitter Pipefitters or Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Mechanics who have passed the General Gas Fitter Licence exam administered by the Saskatchewan Apprenticeship and Trade Certification Commission (SATCC) and obtained their licence from Gas and Electrical Licensing.
