Overview
Campgrounds with RV hook-ups and dump stations are considered a severe hazard (CSA B64.10 – Table B.2)
- Premise and individual Cross Connection Control devices are required to ensure the protection of the potable water system.
- For premise protection, you must use a Reduced Pressure Principle Backflow Device (RP) located as close as possible to the water service valve (before any connections or branches in the water distribution system.
- For individual protection, a Dual Check Valve (DuC) is required at each RV hookup. This protects against backpressure and back siphonage, and are designed to be under constant pressure.
- Hose Connection Vacuum Breakers (HCVB’s) are no longer approved for use in individual RV hookups. They are not approved for constant pressure by the manufacturer or the CSA B64.10, and are only acceptable for back siphonage protection.
